Double Tree Dental Centre is proud to offer breakthrough 3D technology that allows us to create custom crowns right in our office. CEREC® is an in-office milling system that cuts down on the time it takes to create a crown. In the past, crowns were sent off to a laboratory to be made -- a time-consuming process that sometimes took weeks. With CEREC®, patients can walk out of our clinic with a new crown in a single appointment.
The creation/placement of a custom crown is one of the common treatments in cosmetic dentistry. Used to cover or ‘cap’ a damaged tooth, crowns are typically recommended for aesthetic purposes. They can greatly improve the overall appearance, shape or alignment of teeth.
CEREC® crowns are far superior to the ones made in a dental lab. They tend to be much more accurate because impressions are taken digitally, instead of using putty. A 3D scan is quick, precise, and doesn’t involve goopy material. The best part is the impression is scanned accurately within a tenth of a millimeter. The crown is then milled and custom shaded right in our office in less than five minutes.
