Same-Day Emergency Dental Appointment
What Constitutes a ‘Dental Emergency’?
Although many dental emergencies involve pain, some can actually be pain-free. Our dentists accept same-day appointments based on the severity of associated health concerns. The most common emergencies can involve the following:
- Partially dislodged teeth
- Severe and persistent toothache
- Broken, chipped or knocked-out teeth
- Loose filling, crown or bridge
- Bleeding caused by soft-tissue injury to the tongue, cheeks or gums
- Abscesses in the mouth
What Should I Do in the Meantime?
If you’re feeling pain, it can be difficult to bear with it until your appointment. Our team will do its best to accommodate you as soon as possible. In the meantime, however, there are some things you can do to alleviate the discomfort:
- Brush and floss your teeth; pain is increased when food particles are irritating the problem
- If it’s safe to do so, take an over-the-counter pain medication
- Never apply topical ointment directly onto the gums or teeth
- Even if the pain subsides, keep your appointment
